These hides are genuine Nguni hides from South Africa. There are a lot of hides being imported from South America that have a similar look but are not NGUNI.
The hides come from cattle that are farmed for their beef. The hide is a byproduct that would have been stripped of the hair and processed into leather for car manufacturers and clothing. These hides are now intercepted by the abattoir and Chrome tanned with the hair on, adding value to the Nguni animal. Our hides have been manufactured using a legitimate culling process by the Ezemvelo KZN wildlife parks. The Nguni hides are the by products from the animals, and any hides purchased can be supplied with a conservation letter.
Cattle are a strong feature in the Zulu culture and considered a measurement of wealth: the more cattle a man owns, the wealthier he is considered.
